Integral Clocked Unbuffered DIMM (CUDIMM) and Clocked Small Outline DIMM (CSODIMM) are new types of DDR5 RAM modules designed with built-in clock buffering, which significantly boosts signal quality, especially at higher clock speeds or longer signal paths.

Derived from the familiar UDIMM (desktop) and SODIMM (laptop) modules, Clocked Unbuffered DIMM (CUDIMM) and Clocked Small Outline DIMM (CSODIMM) are new types of DDR5 RAM modules designed with built-in clock buffering, which significantly boosts signal quality, especially at higher clock speeds or longer signal paths. Both utilise an integrated Client Clock Driver (CKD) built into the module, giving more stable and reliable signal distribution that helps protect against errors and crashes.

By locally re-driving the clock signal, the CKD helps maintain clock signal integrity as DDR5 frequencies increase, reducing signal degradation and improving timing consistency. This allows CUDIMM and CSODIMM modules to deliver stable, reliable performance in supported platforms, particularly in high-speed DDR5 environments where precise clock distribution is critical.
